How You Can Help:

  • Play with kids at the Sibling Clubhouse

  • Assist at the Information Desk

  • Read books to children for Reach Out and Read

  • Close to Home Centers

    • Interact with children in the waiting area

    • Escort patients back to rooms

    • Keep rooms and toys clean

    • Assist staff with other needed duties.

    • Assist OT/PT (Occupational Therapy / Physical Therapy) staff with keeping equipment clean, making copies, and preparing for patients

How to Get Started:

  1. Complete the online application in July

  2. References — Electronic form submitted by those non-family members you select

  3. Information and interview session - Attend with a parent in September to learn more about the overall volunteer program and specific information about available volunteer openings

  4. Orientation - Attend in October for an introduction to hospital policies

  5. Receive required flu vaccination and TB skin test at your personal health provider and submit records to our hospital Employee Health Department

  6. Attend an assignment specific training and begin volunteering in November
