Paracord Bracelet Day - Prep

In order to have the paracord ready for Paracord Bracelet Day, we will need to prep the cord. Each paracord will need to be sealed and cut to 7 1/2 ft. Here are some instructions on how to prep the paracord. NHS members, please come in to Mrs. Baehr's room (room 103) some time next week to help with the preparations. We will also need a few people to make signs for the event. If this is something that you would like to do, please contact Mrs. Baehr. Materials and instructions will be provided.

Materials

  • Pliers

  • Lighter

  • Candle

  • Scissors

  • Measuring Tape

Instructions

  1. Melt the end of the paracord on the candle until it begins to melt. (I have found it is easier to seal one end of the paracord first to prevent the inside strands from coming out.)

  2. Use the pliers and squeeze the melted paracord to seal it.

  3. Measure 7 1/2 feet of the paracord.

  4. Cut and seal the ends of the paracord.
